2007.06.25 タヒチ島で出来るダイビングのご紹介

久しぶりの投稿です。
日本は梅雨で雨が多いのでしょうか？今年は空梅雨だと聞いてますが、それでも湿気はたっぷりあるのでしょうね。
さて最近タヒチは乾季に入り、天気も安定していて晴天続き。湿度も先月に比べるとかなり落ち着き、大変過ごしやすい日々を送っております。
雨が少ないという事は、海の中もくっきりと、そしてすっきりとしております。
私の趣味はスキューバーダイビング。今回はタヒチ島で出来るダイビングのご紹介です。
タヒチ島のダイビングポイントは島から少し沖に出れば、たくさんあります。
ただ、自分ひとりでは行けないので、必ずダイビングショップに予約が必要ですが、半日もあればキレイな海でにダイビングが楽しめます。
島からボートで約15分くらいでポイントに到着。さっそく潜ります。もうこの時点でとてもキレイ。
タヒチの海で何が見えるかというと、
ウミガメ・・・サンゴに頭を突っ込んで、エサを食べている姿も見れます。非常にデカい大人でも抱えきれないくらいの奴も見ることができます。
ナポレオンフィッシュ・・・オデコにこぶの付いている魚で２ｍくらい。こぶがナポレオンの帽子に似ていることからナポレオンフィッシュと呼ばれる。日本名は「メガネモチノウオ」なぜかというと、目の横に２本線があり、メガネを掛けているように見えるから。
ゴマモンガラ・・・１ｍくらいの黄色と黒と白が混じった魚。サンゴをガリガリ削ずれる堅い歯を持っている。普段はおとなしいが産卵期になると、タマゴを守るために自分のエリアに近づく物を追い回すタチの悪い魚。歯が堅いので噛まれると流血してしまう事もある。
などなど。
でも私のお気に入りは「ハタタテハゼ」という魚で、体調1cmから2cmくらい。色は体の頭側半分が白、尻尾部分が赤。背びれがヨットのマストみたいにピッと立っていて、それを上下にピコピコと動かしているのです。
サンゴの間の砂地に生息している事が多く、臆病なので人が近づくとさっと巣に入ってしまう。
通常は夫婦でピコピコと背びれを動かしながら、浮遊しているのです。
そして、なぜランギロアでもボラボラでもなくタヒチの海をご紹介したかと言うと、この「ハタタテハゼ」が山のようにいたのが衝撃だったからなんですね。
ダイビング中に１匹見つけて喜んでいたら、よく見るとあっちにもこっちにも「ハタタテハゼ」がいる！みんなでピコピコやってる！と思って、私の中ではタヒチの海が一番なのです。
今回はかなり趣味に走った話でしたが、タヒチの海の住人の話でした。
