2008.12.24 １２月２１日午後７時、ムンバイの象徴であるタージマハールパレス･タワー営業再開！

インドボンベイのタージマハル・ホテル副社長・ミスラさんよりこんな嬉しいニュースを頂きましたのでご紹介します。（英語原文は下記に記載）
まず初めに絶大なご支援に対しお礼を申し上げます。この困難な時期にあって、お気遣い、ご心配いただき感謝しております。
ちょうどよい言葉が出てきませんが、これだけは言えます。私どもは皆、傷つき、衝撃や困惑、怒りを感じています。何が、何故起こったか、未だ理解に苦しんでいます。しかしながら、事件後、私どもはタージホテルを再建しようというゆるぎない決意に突き動かされました。一世紀以上にわたり、タージホテルをインド最初の立ち寄り先としてこられたお客様のためにも。タージホテルに単なる建物以上の価値を感じている勇敢な同僚やインドの市民のためにも。多くの人々にとってタージホテルは多くの事柄の象徴になっていると常日頃感じています。
１２月２１日午後７時、タージマハールパレス･タワーの営業再開とともに、ムンバイの不屈の精神にとって不朽の象徴であるタージマハールパレス･タワーが再び世界からお客様をお迎えます。営業再開は、ムンバイにとって勇気、復活、尊厳を確認する出来事です。
ホテルは記録的短期間で営業再開しますが、細部への注意も怠りありません。Zodiac Grill, Souk, Masala Kraft, Shamiana及びStarboardの有名レストラン、The Chambersの各種施設も再びご利用になれます。タージマハールタワー関連特典のあるタージクラブルームをご用意しており、今までどおり、タージ独特のおもてなしができるよう努めます。
インドの温かいおもてなしの象徴タージホテルに再び皆様をお迎えする日をお待ちしております。
Let me begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, we appreciate your empathy and concern at this difficult time.
It is incredibly difficult to find the right words to write to you today, but I can say this much: we all share a sense of shock, bewilderment, hurt and anger. It is still difficult for us to understand just what happened and why as some actions are beyond comprehension. However, what has occurred has left us motivated by a clear and unyielding conviction to rebuild the Taj. For the sake our guests who have made it their first port of call in India for over a century. For our brave colleagues and the citizens of India for whom the Taj is more than just a building. We are constantly conscious that the Taj is a symbol of so much to so many people.
At 7 pm on December 21st, this enduring icon to the indomitable spirit of our city, The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, will play host to the world again, with the reopening of The Taj Mahal Tower. This event is dedicated to the city of Mumbai as an affirmation of its values of courage, resilience and dignity
The hotel will open in a record time but with no loss of attention to detail. You will be able to enjoy the signature restaurants - Zodiac Grill, Souk, Masala Kraft, Shamiana and Starboard, and the facilities of The Chambers, again. We will be delighted to introduce Taj Club rooms with all their associated privileges in the Taj Mahal Tower. Our endeavor, as always, will be to ensure service which is quintessentially Taj..
